The Marketing & Promo Opportunities report highlights titles with strong online retail performance but low web and social activity. These titles are selling well at Amazon, but would benefit from additional promotion within other online and social channels. If you can generate more consumer interest and drive qualified traffic to this title, it has a high likelihood of converting to sale.
Why does this matter?
Consumer activity across the web is a strong indicator of overall demand and sales potential for your books. You want to reach and engage consumers across a broad and diverse mix of marketing channels. If readers are not interested in or engaging with a book or author outside of the retail environment, the title loses opportunities for discovery and is at greater risk of missing sales and being solely subject to the whims of Amazon’s algorithms.
Now what?
Actively promote the book within good-fit online consumer channels. This might include paid and/or earned activities:
- Share a link to the product page via your social profiles
- Share an excerpt or preview from the book
- Encourage authors to promote the book to their own networks
- Promote the book to fans of close comp titles and authors
- Encourage readers to rate and review the book on Goodreads or other book communities
- Share editorial/professional reviews from well-known media and influencers (targeting fans/followers of those brands)
- Create fresh content to support and promote the book
Be sure to view Insights & Actions for each title for additional recommendations.
