Marketing Insights monitors stock and availability for print and ebook formats on Amazon. You can find the most recent availability message (as displayed to consumers at Amazon) in the Amazon Snapshot panel.
If a title is out of stock or displaying a low-stock message on Amazon, consumers are significantly less likely to buy. Any perceived delay in receipt of an order on the part of a consumer will dramatically decrease conversion, impacting both immediate sales and also merchandising optimization.
If you see an unexpected stock/availability message, take a look at the Amazon product page to check currently availability messaging, and check your inventory if there appear to be issues.
Note that both pre-order books and print-on-demand titles are considered "in stock" if they are currently available for purchase.
