Wikipedia is a primary source of authoritative information for search engines like Google, and authors with published works typically qualify for a Wikipedia listing. If done with suitable objectivity and transparency, a publisher can update or create a Wikipedia listing on behalf of an author. It is not recommended that authors create or edit their own Wikipedia page.
- All information should be fact-based and reliably sourced(preferably not from the author’s own site).
- Include a complete bibliography, listing all of the author's titles and/or series. Official publisher websites may be cited as sources.
- Include a neutral "just the facts" biography, stating the author's work, history, and accomplishments. Cite trusted news sources whenever possible.
- Link to other related Wikipedia articles when possible (e.g. associated people, publications, or organizations).
- If a page already exists but needs significant updates, we recommend that you make edits in increments rather than changing it drastically all at once.
Note: Marketing Insights currently provides data for the primary author of the book only (the first author listed for the title on Amazon).
