Time Period Comparisons

When a current period is compared to a previous period here are some guidelines to remember.

• Ingram iQ collects data at the end of business day “yesterday” to determine the current period ending date.
• Comparison of current and previous months are in the current year unless LY precedes MTD.
  i.e. September 2017 is compared to August 2017.
• Comparison of current and previous weeks are in the current year unless LY precedes WTD.
• Weeks in iQ begin on a Saturday.

In the examples below, today is 9/13/17 which means data is collected at end of day 9/12/17 (yesterday).

Comparing Current MTD to the Previous MTD
Current MTD is 9/1/17 - 9/12/17
Previous MTD is 8/1/17 - 8/12/17

The same logic is used for WTD.
Today is Wednesday, Sept 13.
Current WTD is 9/9/17 (Saturday)  - 9/12/17 (Tuesday)
Previous WTD is 9/2/17 (Saturday) -  9/5/17 (Tuesday)
